Job Market for Lawyers and Regulatory Professionals Stays Strong

This was a strong year for lawyers and regulatory professionals and all signs are that this strength is continuing. Areas of significant growth include: Data analytics, FINTECH, Investment Management, Privacy and Technology. M&A was also strong in 2018, with the transactional risk insurance industry being particularly active. Employers are finding it difficult to attract talent, with more jobs available than candidates to fill the roles. Compensation is also increasing for hires, particularly given that many states now forbid prospective employers from asking about a candidate's current compensation.
